Introduction: How do I become a member and what does that mean?

Officially, joining the Astronomy Club at UCD is done by signing up for the mailing list, where we communicate and announce all events. Unofficially, anyone and everyone is allowed to attend Astronomy Club events except in some private outreach events. Joining the Astronomy Club simply gets all the information about our activities. In addition, if you would like to be a hard-core member, the best way to do that is to volunteer at events. You don't even have to be knowledgeable in astronomy to volunteer, as experienced members will teach you what you need to know to help out. If you are a UCD undergrad, you can also become an officer of the club.

Mailing List: the end all to Astro Club communication.

Our mailing list is hosted through UCD's mailing list servers. We will not spam you, ever. Your e-mail will be private and known only to officers maintaining the list. Also, our event e-mails are usually only once a week, so we will not clog your inbox. You can also post any astronomy information you have by sending an e-mail to the list at astronomy@ucdavis.edu. Note that you must join the list to post (keeps away the spammers).

★ To subscribe to the list:

Send an e-mail to listproc@ucdavis.edu with a blank subject and the following information in the body: "sub astronomy <First Name> <Last Name>", and substitue your information in, leaving out the quotation marks (") and the <>. You will then be subscribed under the e-mail address you sent the e-mail from.
★ To unsubsribe:

Leaving so soon? No worries, just send an e-mail to listproc@ucdavis.edu with a blank subject and the following information in the body: "unsub astronomy" without the quotation marks.

★ Extra info for UCD students, staff, and faculty:

If you have a valid login for the UCD servers (kerberos) you can manage and view all of the lists you belong to here: http://listproc.ucdavis.edu/listproc/sub.htm and make any changes you would like.
